Woody
My name is Woody and my friends at Mickaboo Companion Bird Rescue have taken me in.  I am looking for my forever home.  Here is a little more information about me.

Woodpecker A. Conure here, but you can call me Woody for short. You may think that I look like a Peach-Fronted Conure but I'm actually a Half-Moon -- a bit smaller and the top of my beak is lighter in color. I'm a feisty little redhead with a lot of energy in a small package. Even though I weigh just 81 grams -- a feather under three ounces -- I have every bit as much attitude as the larger aratinga conures, and almost as much voice!

Nobody from Mickaboo knows much about my past and I'm not divulging any secrets. I was brought into a shelter in Santa Clara County recently and, since they had never seen a bird like me before they called the experts at Mickaboo. I appear to be young, healthy and hardy. In my foster home I am eating vegetables and pellets and playing with all the toys they give me. I'm a curious, outgoing bird and like being around people. I don't know any human words but have an impressive array of jungle sounds that I use to call my foster dad or greet the morning sun. I can be a little bit loud at times but, hey, I AM a conure, after all.

As you can see I am a very attractive and distinctive bird with my long tail, slender build, white eye patches and of course my apricot colored forehead. I would like to go to a home where I can get plenty of love and attention from people who will accept me as a big bird in a small, red-headed package.   Please contact Mickaboo Companion Bird Rescue to learn more about me!

Itty Bitty Orphan Kitty Rescue’s Pre-wean Kitten Project provides
Pre-Wean Kitten Packs to members of the public who find orphaned
kittens so that they can properly care for these kittens themselves
rather than surrender them to a shelter where they will be euthanized.
We currently distribute these packs free of charge through all 34 Pet
Food Express stores
, as well as through two Bay Area shelters--Palo
Alto Animal Services (PAAS)
and San Jose Animal Care and Services
(SJACS)
.  We are working to expand our project to help more of our Bay
Area shelters to provide people with an alternative to surrendering
pre-wean kittens to shelters.

Each Pre-Wean Kitten Pack comes with instructions and emergency
supplies so you can start caring for your kitten right away.

For information on how you can help support this very important
project, please contact us!

Maddie's Fund® has partnered with the Ad Council, The Humane Society of the United States, and the entire animal welfare community for The Shelter Pet Project, a three year public service advertising campaign designed to encourage pet lovers throughout the country to make shelters and rescue groups the first place they turn to when acquiring companion animals.  Check out this public service announcement.  I love it!
