Could this dog be any cuter?  He needs to be cast in the next Purina dog food commercial!  Talk about a one-of-a-king dog, Yahtzee is an adult fawn Soft-Coated Wheaten Terrier mix who is friendly and playful.  Poor Yahtzee is confused that he is in the shelter and is getting very stressed in the environment.

He will make the perfect playmate for any family!  Go visit him today at the San Jose Animal Care Center!

San Jose Animal Advocates is facilitating the rescue of this 2 year old black and tan Manchester Terrier from a local animal shelter.  He weighs about 20 lbs, is very friendly and good with other dogs.

UPDATE 9/18/2012:  Alice is being taken into HSSV's adoption program.  Please look for her on their website! 

Alice is the definition of a black beauty!  She has a gorgeous coat and moon shaped yellow eyes.  She is an adult kitty, estimated age is 7 who is gentle and sweet.

No one knows why she is back at the shelter - likely someone moved and surrendered her, but due to a minor dental issue combined with an overflowing shelter, we need a committed temporary home or a good permanent home!

Please spread the word about this beauty and help us rescue her in the 11th hour.  Contact us if you can help! 

UPDATE 9/11/2012:  Kylie was adopted today!!
Kylie is always smiling - even if she has a toy in her mouth!  This 3 year old pittie mix is a social girl - always happy and ready for any adventure.  Great with people, and social with other dogs (see video), Kylie is packed and ready for her new home.

The shelter life for the past month has been hard and she is stressed by all of the commotion.  She is happiest with her people and toys, and would make a loving companion for an active person/family.

Go down to the shelter - San Jose Animal Care Center TODAY and ask to meet Kylie outside where she is calm and happy!

UPDATE 9/5/2012:  We found a new foster home and these beauties are looking for a permanent home together!

People think that our local shelter in San Jose will be able to find homes for any pet they surrender.   Unfortunately this is far from the truth given the number of animals that come through their doors every year (estimated at over 20,000).

Jack and Jill are GORGEOUS siamese mixes who were surrendered to the shelter because the family was moving :(  These 2 cats are the perfect companions - very bonded, look alike and are playful and affectionate.  They have lived with dogs, other cats, AND children!!! Talk about versatile :)
We were able to facilitate their rescue from the shelter, but due to unforeseen circumstances we need to find them a new foster home by Thursday, 9/6/2012.  This is the perfect pair of cats - young, gorgeous, playful, and loving.  Contact us if you can help!  Thanks for sharing :)
