Full figured and proud!
UPDATE:  10/31/2012:  Miss Shirley is going into rescue, and is going to start a weight loss program so she'll soon fit in to her skinny jeans!  Stay tuned!

Meet Shirley - she is a full-figured adult cat (estimated age of 7) who has found herself in a local shelter and is in need of a hero to save her. Due to her weight, she is disqualified from being put up for adoption at the shelter :(

San Jose Animal Advocates are facilitating her rescue from the shelter and need a committed temporary home, or even better, a permanent home for this special girl.  Shirley is calm, gentle, and sweet, and needs someone who can help her lose some weight so she can thrive.  If you are a compassionate person, and need a diet buddy, please contact us TODAY!   Email: [email protected]

We have until 11/1 to get her out of the shelter!!!

These dogs are very special - big heads, bigger hearts!  If you know the love of a pit bull, you understand what loving, loyal, family dogs these dogs really are.  Our local shelter has some very special pit bull mixes who are looking for love.   Go down today and meet the love of your life!!

The San Jose shelter is located at 2750 Monterrey Road in San Jose (www.sanjoseanimals.com).  They are open 11am to 7pm daily, except Sundays 11am to 5pm (closed Mondays).  Go down today!!

Lesson to be learned:  Make sure there are NO restrictions with your landlord/complex before adopting an animal!

Meet Jake - This energetic lovebug was recently adopted by a nice couple and was enjoying life in a good home.  Unfortunately, he was returned to the shelter when his adopters learned they were not allowed to have pit bulls at their apartment complex.

When animals are returned to the shelter after spending time in a home, they often find it very difficult to readjust to shelter life.  Poor Jake is having this problem, and is VERY stressed at the shelter.  Dogs who exhibit kennel stress in the shelter are at high risk for being euthanized. Please help us spread the word about this dog so we can help find him a forever home!

UPDATE 10/14/2012:   Natalie is now safe in a temporary foster home.  If you are interested in adopting Natalie, please contact us

Look at those eyes!  Natalie is a sweet, loveable 7 month old kitten who has spent her kittenhood at the shelter waiting for her perfect home.  How is that possible?

Natalie deserves to be in a home where she can play and be a happy kitten, not be stuck in a small cage.

Please help us spread the word about this little girl.  The San Jose shelter is open every day from 11am to 7pm, Sundays 11am to 5pm (closed Mondays).
